This is a solar panel that I built from recycled materials (2×6 DF frame and glass). The 7/16″ OSB on the back, 3″ ABS pipe, fittings, glue and thermometer and screws where purchased for around $90.00. The panel took two weekends to complete. During the one hour testing period, the panel produced between a 42 to 49 degree increase of temp at the return port of the panel. This temp increase includes the 7 degree increase of temp from the 6.25 hp Shop Vac used in the test.
Sir Charls Shults shows us how he can make 6 kw Solar Systems for a fraction of today’s PV solar panel costs. Power your home & Electric Car for $6000 instead of over $50000 for PV systems!
A mini fridge can easily be plugged into your RV or trailer with some kind of electric power source like solar panels or a small generator. The advantages of a mini fridge are obvious. The food or beverages you bring and store it in is going to remain cold just like if you brought your own refrigerator on your camping trip. A lot of times you may want to buy something local where you are at and having a mini fridge makes it a lot more convenient to do that then having to stuff it into an ice chest.
You will also save yourself time with not having to go buy ice every day or even twice a day or more depending where you are.
A mini fridge is also small enough that it is not going to take up a lot of storage space. Campers have a lot of gear and a mini fridge will not get in the way of everything. They along with their generator if needed will easily fit in the back of a truck.

If you are not sure that this is for you, or think that the task is too big for you to take on, why not start with building a home solar panel just to generate part of your power needs, such as your garage or workshop. Once you have managed this and seen the results I am sure that you will want to go further, in time you could go completely off-grid and be totally self sufficient
The other benefit to using solar power to generate your own electricity is that it is totally environmentally friendly, so you will be doing your bit to help save the planet and you will be reducing your carbon footprint considerably.
In addition to reducing your energy costs, there are also Government Rebates available for converting to solar power, and if you decide to build your own home solar panel the rebate that you will receive will go a long way to paying for your system.
As I’ve said before, you do not have to be an expert to be able to build your own home solar panel as long as you follow the advice included in the ‘How To’ manuals, some of which come with videos so that you can see exactly what you should be doing.
If you would like to find out more about building your own home generating system why not take a look at some of the help that is available online, once you have seen what is on offer I am certain that you will come to the decision that a DIY Home Solar Panel project is the right choice for you.
